Draft! to be continued!
We are searching for some dedicated players who are uploading exciting, high quality videos to our channel.
This thread informs about requirements and guidelines to become a contributor.
1. How to become a contributor?
2. What kind of videos can be uploaded to the channel?
3. What are the content guidelines for the videos?
4. What are the format/rendering guidelines for the videos?
It's pretty simple. Send a short appliance to .
What we want to know:
Everything exciting at Cultris. That includes:
But no random gameplay.
Most important thing:
Do not add any background music!
There are several organizations called collecting societies (GEMA, BMI, ASCAP, SOCAN etc. almost every hot dog stall has it own) that are responsible for protecting the "musical" copyright of their members (single artists or labels). YouTube is obligated to help these companies by searching all uploaded content for certain copyright protected material. If a user from a certain country (e. g. Germany) is browsing YouTube, the content will be filtered for protected material based on the restrictions of the GEMA.
That means: If a German user is searching for cool Cultris videos, most videos with copyright protected background music will not be shown. Same thing for many other countries.

We want to achieve a high quality impression on the watchers. They should feel like participating in the game.
The following are the current guidelines:
Size of the video: 1280x720 (Not stretched, it should be the actual game window size. I'll write a guide how to do that)
Framerate: 30 or at least 25 fps. (YouTube doesn't support more)
Codec: h.264 (You could also upload an uncompressed video if you have the time/bandwidth)
How about adding a subject with possible software to use while recording for both Windows and Mac? I'm willing to record but haven't found a good tool yet and maybe other ppl can help with that
nice idea(s) noir + blaat
PS: i stickied this and the other thread ; )
There will be another thread for Q/A about video recording/editing/encoding.
If you want to be a contributor, you should know what you are doing.
//edit: wait until this evening for more information about this
*bump* first post has been updated
Noir: "Size of the video: 1280x720 (Not stretched, it should be the actual game window size. I'll write a guide how to do that)"
I'm genuinely interested in this guide - to make videos exactly 720p instead of 900+. Please reply.
