I mean the counter argument is that it would "split" the community.
I agree on that the game is super sensitive about "something" within the area of server and client.
Wanted to leave my windows / macos machines running for weeks and come back to cultris and find out that it even locally lags.
Restarted the machine, the local lag was mostly gone.
But online? Still had that.
My best guess is that the "server" has the same problem. Need to clear out logs / cache, etc regularly, restart the server along with some cronjob todo "maintenance".

Going back in time, there was a public beta, with LAN support, which can be found on the interwebs.
That version doesn't feel good enough under the fingers.
Knowing that, a possibility is that the "game server" could run Java, like the predecessor, cultris 1.
It doesn't seem to be a good idea, would that be the case.

Should Simon release the server, then without any support or liability imo.
There would be legal risks, too, would the server owner taking any money from people for support hosting the game...
Cause you know, theres the Tetris Company [...]
I'm not sure how it would affect the official game and servers.
But I would be at least a bit afraid.
Game must under no circumstances be "marketed"
