Re: Windows 7 help

Hi Alvin,

Cultris I most certainly works under Windows 7. In fact most of us developers use Windows 7.

What exact problem do you encounter? Did you install Java (http://www.java.com)? Did you install OpenGL-capable graphics drivers?

Cheers

Re: Windows 7 help

I have Java installed, it must be the graphics drivers, my workplace recently upgraded to windows 7, and since then have not been able to load up cultris.

Re: Windows 7 help

Well can you tell me what the exact problem is? Do you get an error message? What does it say?

Re: Windows 7 help

Maybe you should downgrade your graphics drivers ;)

Re: Windows 7 help

You can download a ZIP file from http://www.dll-files.com/pop.php?dll=msvcr71. The ZIP linked on that page contains a DLL file. You can either extract that to the same directory as Cultris or you can save it in C:\Windows\System32.

I also found a longer article that explains the steps in more detail.

Re: Windows 7 help

I got my hands on a win 7 computer (64-bit) and I have the same problem. I tried to google it and there were some answers about copying the MSVCR71.dll file to the same folder as the installer or copy it to the win system(32?) folder. It didn't solve the problem for me though.

When I uninstalled both the 32 and 64 bit versions of java on this computer, cultris will then install an older version of java (32-bit), but I still have the same problem.

I will try again another day. :)

Re: Windows 7 help

You were faster than me Simon. :)

It just didn't work for me. But I will try again later.
